According to the Sun, the 19-year-old
midfielder, who made his first senior appearance
for Manchester United in their 2-1 Capital One
Cup win over Newcastle earlier this month, was
arrested by Police on suspicion of drunk driving
yesterday afternoon after being breathalysed.
The paper reports that witnesses at the scene
say he lost control of the expensive 4x4 on an
industrial estate in Heywood, Manchester and
collided with a nearby parked van, which was
then shunted backwards into a 30ft wall.
"He skidded on the wet road. A mate told me
he'd only just picked up the keys. He hit a van
and pushed it into a wall, making a terrible
screeching sound," the Sun quotes a witness as
saying.
"He's hit it with real force because both vehicles
looked like write-offs. Ryan looked really shaken
up."
Pictures from the scene show a heavily damaged
black Range Rover as well as the van involved in
the incident.
Police confirmed later that a driver had been
arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink-
driving.
Tunicliffe hit the news last month after helping
his father win a £10,000 bet having come on as
a 77th minute substitute for Wayne Rooney in
Manchester United's game against Newcastle at
Old Trafford.
Dad Mick placed a £100 wager with a
bookmakers that he would play for Manchester
United's first team at 100-1.
