Hulse, 32, moves across London after finding
opportunities limited under Hoops boss Mark
Hughes at Loftus Road.
The ex-Derby County and Leeds United player,
who will stay at the Valley until January 1, could
make his Addicks debut when they host
Championship rivals Watford on Tuesday
evening.
Charlton boss Chris Powell moved for Hulse as
he looked to add valuable experience to his
frontline after Yann Kermorgant was ruled out
for around three months with an ankle injury.
"I'm really pleased to have Rob on board and
look forward to working with him," Powell told
the club's official website.
"With the squad we have we do have one or two
players that have played at this level before and
a couple have played Premier League, but you
do need to have that Championship know-how
week in, week out and Rob will give us that.
"He's done well at this level before and I think
he will show people that he's a good player.
"We know that he comes here with maybe a
point to prove to people."
Hulse joined QPR from Derby in August 2010
and helped the Hoops win promotion to the
Premier League in his first season.
But he has barely featured since, making just
three appearances in the past 18 months.
"My career has been a bit stop-start for the past
year and I'm looking forward to getting it back
on track now with Charlton Athletic," said Hulse.
"I've met Chris Powell a couple of times and look
forward to working with him.
"He's an up-and-coming manager who I've heard
lots of good things about, so it's nice to be here."
