After a breathtaking 90 minutes of football, Spanish giants Real Madrid emerged victorious thanks to strikes from Argentine striker Higuain and former world footballer of the year Christiano Ronaldo. The match kicked off with both sides having full confidence of defeating their opponents. Higuain was gifted a chance early on in the game when a missed ball by Mascherano put him one on one with Valdes and he finished it calmly.
Ronaldo then had his wonderful flick put him in a very good position to score which he did with class. Within the first 19 minutes, Real Madrid were 2 goals up already with the tik-tak masters Barcelona having problems at the back. The game went on until when Xavi was fowled and current world footballer Lionel Messi curled the ball superbly into the back of the net. The match ended with Barcelona defender Adriano been red carded for pulling Ronaldo's shirt.
Barcelona head into the weekend with a game against Valencia as they hope to win the La Liga.
